Being in this region, working to earn a living and at the same time making a mark to show our existence in the world is not an easy chore. Since independence we are fighting on several fronts for our identity, individuality and distinctiveness, for recognition. Though the world recognized us but it is not very comfortable with this recognition. We stood victims of intrigue, maneuvering by the international players, conspiracies and plans to defeat us. We have had leaders who stood resolved for the cause of our country; we have had people who supported them. But each time we try to stand on our feet we were pushed down. We were pushed to the ground by using our own people against us. These were none other than our own defenders. They while shielding us went few steps ahead and crossed the boundaries of their mandate.
We are fighting at the state level with other states on a diplomatic front to give us a breathing space. We are fighting individually to prove our self. We are fighting organizationally to take our share of the wealth floating in the global market. This is happening ever since we came into existence. This is happening as there is a lot at stake because of the existence of Pakistan. Because of the fact that Pakistan is located in the most fertile area. This area is fertile for its land, mountains, rivers and cultures, and more so this area is fertile for the beautiful minds of our people. The minds that we produce from this region are fertile, genius, creative and at the same time ready to take on the world. This fact is established and known around the world. These fertile minds are serving in the hospitals, organizations, banks and anywhere, that is helping the world in countries around the world.
Living in Pakistan, and producing a decent living for your household is a difficult task. The world around us must appreciate the fact that we are dealing with numerous challenges at the same time. We produce for our family, we study, we work, we go to the offices in the worst of public transport, we go to schools, colleges and universities with worst of facilities, we travel on roads with, worst of road conditions, we live in houses with worst of civic facilities available. When we study we look for electricity to remain with us, when travel we pray that bus/train/plane comes in time (if at all it comes), when we go to offices we pray that our bosses behave (as they come from the same stressed background as we do), when we go to hospitals we pray that our doctors have all the right equipments and the time to treat us, when we go to schools/colleges/universities we pray that our teachers teach us well. That is perhaps the reason that we pray most of the time.
For us and for that matter for many around the world Pakistan is a wonder land that has produced many unexpected results in the past. Still we are producing results which are unexpected for many. Here I am not referring to the events happening in the world that goes into the category of unlawful activities. The above narration of the capabilities of the Pakistani people is at par with any other people living in the world. The difference and the excellence of these capabilities is judged from the fact that these capabilities are performed in the worst of circumstances. Had our people had the opportunities and the facilities as provided to the more developed world we would have had a much polished outlook for ourselves and our country. But rest assured the people of Pakistan after all the negativity and lack of support from the world (and from within) are a peace-loving, forward-looking and hard-working people who are destined to succeed.
